MTV has confirmed that they are bringing Jersey Shore to an end after its sixth season.
The reality series has grown to be the highest-rating series in the network’s history, with nearly 9 million viewers tuning in at one point in the US.
MTV’s confirmation ends speculation that they were planning to continue the franchise with a new cast.
Jersey Shore will still live on in some regards with the spin-off series Snooki & JWoww on MTV.
The sixth season of Jersey Shore premieres in NZ on Wednesday, October 24 at 9.30pm on MTV.
Snooki & JWoww hits NZ screens on Wednesday, September 19 at 9.00pm.
