What are you watching tonight? Sunday 19 August

I’m planning on watching David Attenborough’s First Life and How To Lose Friends And Alienate People

I’m a huge fan of David Attenborough-narrated nature series, so I’ll definitely be watching David Attenborough’s First Life, tonight on Prime at 7.30pm. Nature documentaries go with Sunday nights like cheese goes with crackers – they’re just perfect together. On this show, Sir David Attenborough travels back in time (not literally, I’m afraid) to the very beginnings of life, in search of the world’s first animals, which are brought to life with very advanced CGI technology.

I’ll be recording How to Lose Friends and Alienate People tonight (TV3, 8.30pm), as I haven’t seen this movie. It stars the very funny Simon Pegg as a British writer who struggles to fit in at a high-profile magazine in New York, and is based on Toby Young’s memoir of the same name. It also stars Kirsten Dunst.

If that movie doesn’t sound like your thing, then Four is screening The Beach at 8.30pm (an oldie but a goodie!). It stars Leonardo Di Caprio as a traveller in search of exotic experiences in Thailand. He discovers a secret island paradise off the coast of Thailand…only to find out that the people who live there are willing to kill to keep it to themselves. It’s a good movie.

TV2 are screening Sex and the City 2 at 8.30pm, but only passionate fans of Sex and the City should watch this one. It was a bit of a letdown.
