Vodafone has had to pull a new TV ad after one of their customers was bombarded with text messages from other Vodafone users.
The ad, featuring Boy actor James Rolleston, was aimed at allowing customers to text the actor and possibly receive a reply due to the huge amount of credit he had on his plan.
“I’ve got so much credit, I could probably reply to all you right now!”, Rolleston said on the ad before a Vodafone number appeared on screen.
However, many viewers got one digit wrong in the phone number and ended up sending their messages to an innocent pre-pay customer, who began to experience issues with his phone.
After contacting Vodafone to explain the problem, he was credited with $200 to his phone and the ad was pulled.
