What to watch tonight: Friday 21 September

Must watch:

The Voice (TV2, 7.30pm)
The new US season of The Voice starts on TV2 tonight, with coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. This show is proving very popular, but I’ve never really watched it beyond the odd episode here and there. I will endeavour actually to watch it from start to finish this season.

If God’s Willing And Da Creek Don’t Rise (Soho, 8.30pm)
This is part one of a two-part documentary directed by Spike Lee. Lee visits New Orleans five years after Hurricane Katrina hit, to see how the ambitious plans to reinvent the city are progressing.

Record for later:

The X Factor USA (TV3, 7.30pm)
The X Factor now has some competition from The Voice on TV2. I’m sure I won’t be the only one recording one and watching the other live!

The Others (Vibe, 8.30pm)
Creepy movie alert. Nicole Kidman stars as a mother who lives in a darkened old house with her two photosensitive children. When strange noises and disturbances start happening, she becomes convinced that her family home is haunted.
