What to watch: Wednesday 3 October

Must see:

Is Modern Medicine Killing You? (TV One, 8pm)
This new local series starts tonight on TV One. It challenges the way we look at our health, by featuring two patients on each episode, who have tried to get well using a number of prescription drugs, over-the-counter medication and even bizarre remedies that have no scientific merit at all. When none of these remedies work, they turn to Dr Frances Pitsilis and Dr Glenn Twentyman, two Auckland GPs who use integrated medication; natural and complementary medicines; and therapies which have a scientific basis to help treat the patient rather than mask their symptoms. Should be interesting.

Glee (Four, 7.30pm)
It’s Sarah Jessica Parker’s (formerly of Sex And The City) first appearance on Glee tonight. She’ll be playing Kurt’s new boss at vogue.com. Also on the episode tonight, the race for Senior Class President heats up as Blaine throws his hat in the ring against Brittany.

Record for later:

Footloose (Sky Movies 1, 8.30pm)
This is the remake, starring Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald. I can’t vouch for how good it will be, but I bet the dancing, at least, is fantastic. For those of you unfamiliar with the storyline, Ren MacCormack moves to a small town where rock ‘n’ roll and dancing have been banned, but he soon shakes up their way of thinking.

Anger Management (TV2, 8.40pm)
Charlie has to evaluate how much influence he has in his patients’ lives when he accidentally helps a volatile patient hook up with a crazy woman.

Game Of Thrones (Prime, 9.30pm)
Ned refuses an order from the King; and and Tyrion escapes from one perilous situation, only to find himself in another.
