Chris Lilley has confirmed today that he will have a new mockumentary series out next year.
The Australian told UK website Digital Spy that while details of his new project can’t be revealed at the moment, it will be similar to his previous series We Can be Heroes, Summer Heights High and Angry Boys.
“I’m well underway with a new project and I’m keeping it a bit of a secret and under wraps for now. It’s along the same lines as my other shows We Can Be Heroes, Angry Boys and Summer Heights High,” Lilley said.
“It’s a mockumentary style and I’ll play the characters. It’s looking really cool. That should be on the BBC next year hopefully. I don’t control when they put it on, but that’s when we want it to happen.
“I want to keep as much of the show as possible a secret, but if you’ve loved my last three shows, this is part four. It’s going to be really good.”
“We’re fully underway, we’re halfway through auditions and we’re going to shoot in January.
“I’m really wanting to move things a bit more quickly with this one. I don’t want to keep people waiting so long, so hopefully it will be ready next year, which will be really cool.
When asked about the possibility of bringing back former characters, Lilley said: “I never like to think of any character as being over. I’m always thinking of different ways of bringing them back.”
