Maori Television will screen the first match of the Maori All Blacks’ European Tour this Friday November 16 at 8.30pm.
The game against the Leicester Tigers had been scheduled to screen a day earlier but technical issues have delayed the broadcast.
Under a deal with SKY Television, Maori Television has the delayed rights to broadcast the three-match tour.
In addition to the Leicester Tigers’ game, Maori Television will screen the Maori All Blacks match against the Championship Select XV on Sunday November 18 at 8.30pm, and the test against Canada on Saturday November 24 at 6.00pm.
The Canada game will also screen on the Te Reo Channel on Sunday November 25 sat 10.30pm with commentary in te reo Maori.
Haunui Royal, Maori Television’s General Manager of Programming said Maori Television is delighted to work alongside SKY to bring the Aoteaora Fisheries Maori All Blacks European Tour to the free-to-air audience.
“The Maori All Blacks will always have a special pride of place on our channel and generate huge interest with our audience. This year’s series in the UK promises to be no different.”
Royal says the coverage is a precursor to the exciting season of free-to-air sport coming up on Maori Television, including the Under 20 Junior Rugby World Cup and the UK Super League.
Viewers can tune in to Maori Television on Freeview 5, SKY 19 and Analogue.
