Additional episodes ordered for new Arrested Development season

Production has been halted on the new season of Arrested Development after additional episodes were commissioned.

Originally 10 episodes were ordered for the fourth season that would be available exclusively on Netflix but creator Mitch Hurwitz had more ideas than the order could handle so new episodes have been added.

In order for Hurwitz and co to look over the footage already shot, production was halted and will continue when they have figured out what needs to be filmed.

It is estimated they will begin filming again in January sometime.

Netflix confirmed that new episodes were ordered but were unsure how many additional episodes will be made.

“We are thrilled with the direction of the show, with the footage we have seen and with the relationship between Mitch, Imagine, 20th and Netflix. At this time, we are not confirming or announcing the final episode count but we are sure fans will be thrilled when we do,” they said.
