We’ll soon be seeing him on the judging panel of The X Factor NZ but in the meantime you can get acquainted with Stan Walker in the new kiwi movie Mt Zion.
The 2009 Australian Idol winner appears alongside a bunch of former Shortland Street actors in the movie, including Temuera Morrison, David Wikaira-Paul and Miriama Smith.
Not to mention a certain Darcey-Ray Flavell-Hudson of “ghost chips” fame.
Walker’s acting debut sees him playing a young Maori singer who dreams of hitting the big-time with his band. The chance comes when a competition is announced to select a support act for Bob Marley’s 1979 NZ tour.
The movie got off to a strong start in cinemas last week, opening near the top of the NZ box office.
