True Blood Renewed For Seventh Blood Sucking Season

True Blood 6Get ready for more Sookie Stackhouse as True Blood has been renewed for a seventh season.

Executive producer Brian Buckner, who last March replaced Mark Hudis as the show runner, will remain in that role for Season 7.

True Blood, which is midway through its sixth season in the US, “remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers,” said HBO programming president Michael Lombardo in a statement. “Thanks to Brian and his talented team, the show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV.”

HBO declined to say how many episodes Season 7 will consist of, but sources put the number once again at 10.
