Who are the biggest advertisers during the Superbowl?

Nielsen have released some interesting data for advertisers who have spent the most on TV ads during the Superbowl in the US.

The top 10 advertisers from 2009 – 2013 are:

ANHEUSER-BUSCH $149 M
PEPSICO INC. $97 M
COCA-COLA CO. $62 M
VOLKSWAGEN $57 M
FIAT SPA. $55 M
GENERAL MOTORS CO. $43 M
WALT DISNEY CO. $40 M
HYUNDAI MOTOR CO. $39 M
COMCAST CORP. $37 M
NATL AMUSEMENTS INC. $35 M

And then there are the top five products that have been advertised over the same period:

AUTO $298 M
BEER $149 M
MOTION PICTURE $130 M
REG SOFT DRINK $89 M
TORTILLA CHIPS $42 M

As the largest television event in America, if not, the world, it is no surprise that the average cost of a 30 second ad inflates from around $100,000 to close to $3,000,000 (USD).
