Not the dream start they were hoping for

cadbury-dream-factoryThere are moments when I look at the overnight ratings reports as they come in and just have to drop my head.  Last night, TV3’s new heart warming series Cadbury Dream Factory only managed to deliver an average audience of 154,160 viewers.

I can only hope that as the series continues, word gets out and the viewership builds.

Having a feel good show of our own is something that New Zealanders should embrace so here’s to next weeks numbers being up.

tv3 seems to be getting terrible ratings at the moment. Whats up?

  • Ugg

I enjoyed it. A nice feel good programme for a change. Their Facebook page is getting some great feedback. It’s the kind of programme that would appeal to the boring old farts who watchTV1, so I’m surprised they didn’t watch it :o)

I didn’t watch this and maybe my reasons are the same as many others. I don’t like ’emotion-baiting’ television. It’s the same reason I don’t watch things like Extreme Home Makeover. Doing good things for good people is admirable but when it’s all filmed and edited and tweaked to get the most ‘awwww’s’ out of the audience I just feel manipulated.

Now before you say ‘That’s not what it was like at all’ keep in mind that i’m just sharing my thoughts on why many people may have chosen not to watch it in the first place.

Also, I’d rather claw my eyes out than listen to Kim Crossman speak.

That’s if the ratings for last night are correct….?

Maybe the hosts turn people off?

TV3 are not having much luck with their new shows…funnily enough i actually enjoyed “dream factory” and yes kim crossman sounded way more annoying then she did on “shorty street”. good luck to these shows on tv3 cause it looks like tv 2 and 1 are going to hammer them in the ratings !

I actually loved it, it was amazing what they did with the snow but I’m not sure about the game show. Can’t understand why kiwis prefer watching crappy shows 🙂

Wasn’t so keen on Brook Howard-Smith shouting at me.

  • Reece

It got what it deserved and the promo for the show was awful and the fact that Cadbury is so tied into the show is off putting as well.

I didn’t watch it because I thought it was going to be another talent show which I wasn’t excited about, but then I heard it was a snow themed something set up in a Northland town and I just thought “weird”. I don’t like any of the presenters so would not have made a point in tuning in to see what it was like even.
