Lorde receives Kids' Choice Awards nomination

When it comes to this year’s best in entertainment, there’s no need to ask an academy; just ask the kids and they’ll let you know!

The nominees for Nickelodeon’s 27th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards, airing LIVE in New Zealand on Sunday, 30 March at 1pm have been announced. Vying for the sought-after blimp award are mega-stars from stage, screen and sports, including NEW ZEALAND’S OWN LORDE, plus HUGH JACKMAN, JENNIFER LAWRENCE, PHARRELL WILLIAMS, JOHNNY DEPP, KATY PERRY, ONE DIRECTION, SANDRA BULLOCK, NEIL PATRICK HARRIS, DWAYNE JOHNSON, MILA KUNIS, STEVE CARELL, MAROON 5, MILEY CYRUS, ARIANA GRANDE, SELENA GOMEZ, MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, PITBULL, BRUNO MARS, ROBERT DOWNEY JR., TAYLOR SWIFT, LADY GAGA, JENNETTE MCCURDY and many more. Hollywood superstar, MARK WAHLBERG, will host this amazing slime spectacle, live on Saturday, 29 March from Los Angeles.

From today, kids will be able to cast their votes, including the newly introduced Favourite Funny Star, Favourite Animated Animal Sidekick and Most Enthusiastic Athlete. Kids will be able to vote using Nickelodeon’s digital outlets, including KCA2014.com and mobile site, which will feature hilarious short videos, fun quizzes, photo galleries, weekly polls and the latest news on this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards and nominees. Kids will also be able to log on to Nickelodeon Australia’s Facebook page and vote from a tab on the page, with the entire voting experience able to be embedded directly into wall posts. On Twitter, users will be able to vote using custom KCA hashtags.

With five Australian categories included this year, Nickelodeon hosts, Luke and Wyatt will announce the winners of the Aussie categories: AUSSIES’ FAVE HOMEGROWN TALENT, AUSSIES’ FAVE HOTTIE, AUSSIES’ FAVE NICK SHOW, FAVE AUSSIE IN HOLLYWOOD and AUSSIES’ FAVE HOT NEW TALENT from a slime hot tub, in between the live broadcast!

The 2014 Nickelodeon’s Annual 27th Kids’ Choice Awards will be seen in more than 375 million households around the world and in more than 25 languages. Voting for the 2014 Kids’ Choice Awards will span six continents across 17 localised voting sites, giving kids practically everywhere the chance to decide who takes home a coveted blimp. The 2013 KCAs was the highest-rated ever among kids in many international markets, including the UK, Germany and Singapore. Ratings for the 2013 KCAs were up double-digits YOY internationally, and the show was rated #1 in its timeslot among kids’ channels in key international markets, including the UK, Australia, Netherlands, Spain, Singapore, and more.
