Ratings: Campbell Live vs Seven Sharp 2014 Week 1

Both Seven Sharp and Campbell Live returned to our screens at 7pm last week.  It was a week earlier than when Seven Sharp first made an appearance in 2013 so the year on year comparisons won’t be for the exact same time period.  Let’s take a look at how they performed in their first week anyway.

Seven Sharp began the year with a new look hosting line up and delivered an average audience of 343,378 viewers per episode in the first week.  Last year the average audience for the show was 374,212 viewers per episode across the entire year.  The first week last year drew an average audience of 378,418 viewers but this included the initial debut peak.

Campbell Live drew an average audience of 205,890 viewers per episode, a little shy of 60% of the numbers that Seven Sharp did.  However, year on year, Campbell Live was up 13% on the same period last year so the news and current affair team at TV3 will certainly be happy with the numbers.

At a glance, the changes at Seven Sharp don’t appear to have remedied the issues.  Time and trends will tell as to whether this assessment is correct.
