With Paul driving around California on vacation at the moment, how The Paul Henry Show would rate in his absence was always going to be interesting. The numbers are in and despite having a different replacement host each night, TV3’s late night news and current affairs program was down 15% on the previous week. The average audience was 110,330 viewers per night.
Despite being down, Friday nights episode was the third highest rating episode the show has had with The Edge morning show host Mike Puru drawing an average audience of 159,160 viewers.
Here’s how the rest of the week looked:
Monday 30 June – Rebecca Wright – 71,840
Tuesday 1 July – Ali Mau – 87,960
Wednesday 2 July – Bill Ralston – 105,980
Thursday 3 July – Genevieve Westcott – 126,710
Friday 4 July– Mike Puru – 159,160
Despite the decline on the previous week, year on year, the numbers were up 10% on Nightline for the same period.
Tonight had a better week as well, perhaps benefiting from Paul’s absence, with TV One’s late night news program up 15% on the previous week to an average audience of 122,172 viewers per night.
