  • Blame the viewers

Sounds like Firstline is around the 21k viewers area and maybe thats why they want to put Paul Henrys show into the slot. Good idea but maybe blame MOST of the 3news 6PM viewers for not tuning in. Last night they keep saying on the 3 news ads saying Firstline 6-8:30AM weekdays. Looks like most of the 6PM 3news listeners did not care about it.

Yes, in comparison to TV One’s Breakfast, Firstline rates horribly. TV3 is trying to steal away some of TV One’s audience with Paul Henry’s upcoming show because they know many of those people watched him when he was on TV One. Not to mention Radio Live listeners know him from when he was on there, so it makes perfect sense for TV3 to try and grab that audience as they are on the go. The advertising doesn’t seem to really work very well for Firstline but I’d say it will for Firstline’s successor.
