With the ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy arriving on our shores, and the cricketing world converging on New Zealand, LG Electronics New Zealand (LG) is pleased to announce a bold initiative to help Kiwis around the country watch the games.

LG is providing access to a range of its premium TVs at not-for-profit rates to all registered RSAs and New Zealand Clubs.

“RSAs and local clubs are at the heart of the nation and New Zealand sporting, and they are far and wide what most Kiwi’s call their ‘local’,” said Glen Chean, National Marketing Manager, LG New Zealand.

“As a global sponsor of the ICC Cricket World Cup we want all New Zealanders to be able to watch the games on the best screens available, this is our way of giving back to organisations that need the support and, potentially, over 400 local communities across the country.”

Many RSAs and clubs across the country are using outdated viewing technology, and many have been wanting to upgrade their sports viewing capabilities and either lacked the budget, or the right excuse, to do so.

All registered RSAs and Clubs are now able to purchase up to two premium TVs at preferential pricing up to the start of the ICC Cricket World Cup on 14 February.

“From Bluff to the Cape our members will be watching the ICC Cricket World Cup, and while some clubs have better technology than others, this opportunity from LG will allow any club to upgrade their TVs. LG is really helping out sports fans across the country with this partnership,” said Lucy Waterreus, Membership Manager, Clubs New Zealand.

“We applaud LG’s commitment to RSAs around the nation,” added Grant Marris, RNZRSA’s Business Development Manager. “The ICC Cricket World Cup is certainly on our calendar of events and is a sport that our members love to watch. LG is acting within the spirit of the games by helping our members do just that.”

Jointly hosted by New Zealand and Australia, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is the flagship event of the international cricket calendar and is held every four years. One of the world’s largest sporting tournaments, 14 competing countries will engage nearly one-fifth of the world’s population – with an expected television audience of more than a billion people worldwide tuning in.

“As one of the longest-standing partners of the ICC, LG is extremely excited to be part of such an amazing global sporting event. The ICC Cricket World Cup is going to be a huge event for New Zealand, and we’re excited to be helping Clubs New Zealand, RSAs and their over 400,000 members experience the games on the best screens available,” continued Glen.

LG is also pleased to announce the arrival and availability of their new TV the EC930T. Available at 55 inches, LG’s industry leading curved, OLED technology provides unrivalled detail, exceptional motion clarity and a more immersive sporting experience to viewers.

Since introducing the world’s first 55-inch OLED TV last year, LG has continued to drive the OLED TV market forward by investing heavily in R&D to build a significant lead over other TV manufacturers. LG’s commitment to OLED TV is already benefiting consumers with lower prices, better technology and the best viewing experience possible.

The EC930T is now available at all authorised LG dealers with an RRP of $5499.95.
