Prime announces 2015 Rugby World Cup coverage

Rugby World Cup 2015Still recovering from watching Sunday’s match? The BLACKCAPS’ campaign might have finished, but the countdown is on for September when Prime will screen every All Blacks game free-to-air during the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

When celebrations kick-off in London, Prime will take viewers LIVE to Twickenham Stadium for the Opening Ceremony and the first game, England versus Fiji. Once the tournament is underway, Prime has delayed coverage of the All Blacks’ pool matches and highlights of other 2015 Rugby World Cup games.

Prime’s commitment to back Black continues right through to the business end of the competition, promising LIVE coverage of two quarter finals, one semi-final, the bronze final and the grand final! That means there will be nothing holding fans back from supporting the All Blacks to another World Cup victory, with free-to-air coverage only on Prime.

Broadcast details will be released closer to the tournament and updated on the electronic programme guide (EPG).

Idiots for not doing every game live. People will find alternative ways to view it. I sure will, and I don’t mean through sky.

It’s all part of the slow theft of televised sport – deliberate, of course. Sky’s been trying it on for years now. Other sports, there’s a debate to be had about the level of coverage, but the All Blacks? At the Rugby World Cup? Not live in New Zealand? Is there a lack of interest or something? 🙂
