Ratings: Campbell Live breaks 400,000 mark

In only the 6th time, Campbell Live has breached the 400,000 mark with last night’s show drawing an average audience of 419,410 viewers. This makes it the 5th highest rating episode of all time.

Campbell Live Ratings

It is a fantastic result for the show and if these numbers remain consistent then it would certainly seem crazy to be making any changes to the schedule.

However, TV3 still clearly have a problem with keeping their audience as the massive boost had no impact on the rest of the night which looked fairly consistent to previous weeks. Either way you look at it though, it appears to be a programming issue.

The irony in last night’s boost, however, was the absence of John Campbell.

While John is definitely a personality, I don’t think anyone would tune out of the show because it does not front it a particular night. I can’t think of any reason why the ratings would be higher last night than other nights, but let’s hope it continues.

I don’t think John’s absence is responsible. It’s not like it was publicised. It’s just ironic that he wasn’t there.

It could be to do with Julia, that was so sad …The police have to stop the brainwashing 🙁

I think the Gloriavale story is helping. John has said in the past people switch to CL at the start and see if there’s any stories they’re interested in, and if not they change back. Last nights teaser probably grabbed a lot of people. The 400,000 number is very surprising though.
