How fed up with X Factor are viewers?

The X FactorIf you thought the ratings for The X Factor had been bad this season, they were glowing compared to last night’s Xtra Factor which drew an average audience of only 122,050 viewers.

Considering both 3 News and Campbell Live had a brilliant night with both programs rising above the 300,000 mark, the drop from the lead in was an embarrassing 61%.

What will be of interest moving forward is whether the new current affairs show that TV3 will be putting up at 7pm attracts the kind of audiences that will stick around post 7:30pm and if so, will they be large enough to make up for the audience that will be lost when Campbell Live ends?

The question I have is how do TV3 calculate their ratings?

    • Harrison

They don’t. An independent company (nielsen) receives data for all channels

Still a huge jump from their show on FOUR. This was purely an advertisement for their radio show, and it paid off.

How about giving the UK series a go at airing here?

    • Drew

The X Factor UK is coming to TV3, not sure with an air date but I hope we get the UK version over the Australian version this year. Its taken a decade for the X Factor UK to become available to international broadcasters: http://m.broadcastnow.co.uk/5082560.article. The UK edition would suit a New Zealand TV schedule as the premiere would screen Saturday night ( Sunday Morning NZT) with TV3 able to screen it in primetime a couple hours later on Sunday Night. With TVNZ screening BGT, its only a matter of time for X Factor
