John Campbell joining Sky Sport for All Blacks tour to Samoa

john-campbell-2013-300The All Blacks’ match against Samoa next month will have a very special guest with TV presenter John Campbell joining SKY Sport’s presentation team for the historic game in Apia.

SKY Sport is thrilled to welcome one of New Zealand’s most popular news presenters to SKY’s rugby stable for the one-off test. The former Campbell Live host is a rugby fanatic and was the driving force behind a vocal campaign to get the All Blacks to play their first-ever match in Samoa.

Campbell will be joined by SKY’s rugby presenters and commentators Grant Nisbett, Justin Marshall, Jeff Wilson and Ken Laban.

The match is the first international of the year for the All Blacks, with the Rugby Championship and Rugby World Cup to follow LIVE on SKY Sport.

The press on this was annoying yesterday because it painted it as if he would be doing more than 1 match.

I am glad that he’s not doing more than one, although anyone is better than Justin Marshall.

“… anyone is better than Justin Marshall” – except for that really tall former All Black … I forget his name … he’s really tall and was prolific in the late ’80s/early ’90s … speaks as if he has something in his mouth.
JC will be a boring commentator – and too sloooooow – he won’t be able to keep up.

He’ll just be doing the pre-match, half time and post match commentary/interviewing I imagine…
