Ratings: Newsworthy hits new low

There was a silver lining for Newsworthy last week with a 3% rise in their average audience to 49,238 viewers per night but last Monday saw the late night news program hit an all-time new low, barely scratching past 20,000 viewers.

The average audience of 21,920 viewers was less than the number of viewers TV One’s Tonight program had on its plus one broadcast.

TV3 are struggling to attract viewers to a time slot that not so long ago was attracting more than double what they currently are getting.

Year on year, Newsworthy was down 33% on the same period in 2014 when The Paul Henry Show was on.

TV One’s Tonight on the other hand, was up 13% on the previous week to an average audience of 124,432 viewers per night but down 2% on the same time last year.

I wonder if this show will also be up for review in six months, along with the rest of TV3’s current affairs shows?
