All new laughs are in store for your Friday nights on TV3, in that new seasons of The Graham Norton Show and 7 Days begin tonight.

Airing within two weeks of the United Kingdom broadcast, Season 18 of The Graham Norton Show gets underway tonight at 8:30pm.

The biggest and funniest names in showbusiness join Graham Norton for his unique blend of comically meaningful conversation, the best music and audience interaction, as he explores all aspects of the popular cultural universe.

Joining Norton on the sofa for the season premiere are Hollywood star Matt Damon and Oscar-nominated actress Jessica Chastain (The Help, Zero Dark Thirty), starring in new blockbuster The Martian; Oscar-winning French star Marion Cotillard, talking about her latest movie role as Lady Macbeth; top comic, musician and actor Bill Bailey; and music from The Weeknd, performing their hit song Can’t Feel My Face.

The show is all about the stuff that you won’t see on the news – from celebrity guests’ anecdotes, through the sillier stories buzzing round the wires to the unique quirks and obsessions of the Norton audience.

Straight after The Graham Norton Show, sees the highly-anticipated return of comedy game show 7 Days.

Speaking about what fans can expect from Season 8 of the show hosted by Jeremy Corbett, series producer Jon Bridges said it will be a very notable one.

“I’m excited to welcome two debutants onto the 7 Days panels in this final run of the year,” he said. “Pax Assadi is going to bring his big energy and Nic Sampson, who we’ve seen a bit of on Jono and Ben and The Brokenwood Mysteries, is also debuting.”

“They’ll be sitting on panels packed with our favourite 7 Days regulars like Claire Hooper, Josh Thomson, Madeleine Sami, Jeremy Elwood, Chopper, Tom Furniss and of course Dai (Henwood), Paul (Ego) and Jeremy.”

On tonight’s panels, Paul Ego, Dai Henwood, Australian comedian Joel Creasey, Ben Hurley, Shavaughn Ruakere and Guy Williams dissect the week’s news. Corbett presides over the show as the referee.

There’s also some exciting times to come later in the season, Bridges explains.

“Looming over the whole run this October and November is the impending arrival of our 200th episode,” said Bridges. “On December 2 at the Auckland Town Hall we’ll start the national tour of 7 Days LIVE and film our 200th 7 Days episode. It’s going to be a big night! Look out for the biggest musical and political guests!”
