Ratings: Story bucks the trend with a big boost

Paul Henry had his second best week ever last week and now Story has matched the success with their own second best performance. The average audience for TV3’s new 7pm current affairs show was up 24% on the previous week to 199,733 viewers per night.

While TV3 enjoyed a bit of rare form, Seven Sharp had a 1% drop to an average audience of 422,880 viewers per night.

The Goldbergs continued their appalling run at 7pm on Friday, despite being up to an average audience of 54,100 viewers. The weekly average audience for TV3’s 7pm timeslot was up 24% overall to 170,606 viewers per night.

Year on year, last week was only the second time in 2015, other than when Campbell Live was in review, that TV3’s 7pm timeslot has outperformed the same period from the year before – the other time being the week of Story’s launch. Last week was up 5% on 2014 but still 10% lower than 2013.

For Seven Sharp, it was a 4% increase on last year and 26% higher than 2013.
