SKY to launch Jonah Lomu pop-up channel

SKY Sport has announced it will launch a pop-up channel in memory of Jonah Lomu, following the announcement of his death today.

Jonah will screen a selection of the former All Black’s famous matches, along with the recent autobiographical film Jonah Lomu: Back to South Africa, in which he returns to South Africa 20 years after the All Black’s loss in the 1995 Rugby World Cup final.

The pop-up channel will launch tonight at 5:35pm with a screening of the film, which will also exclusively premiere on free-to-air channel Prime TV, tonight at 7:30pm.

Twenty years after the now iconic 1995 Rugby World Cup, cameras capture it all in the telling documentary, as Lomu returns to South Africa, meeting with old friends and reuniting with his old Springbok rival, Joost van der Westhuizen.

The channel, on SKY channel 058, will be available for all SKY customers with a SKY Basic package. The games and documentary will be replayed until Monday at 6am.
