Australian Idol Cheap and Nasty
Anyone else finding Australian Idol quite cheap and nasty this season? It looks like they've converted the inside of a warehouse with what little money they have.
The quality of the 'guest judges' and the songs chosen by the contestants are questionable. Good Charlotte band members as guest judges?
It's almost as bad as New Zealand Idol...

a million people tuning in to watch a show would suggest it is either good or that there is nothing better to watch or do. It may not be your cup of tea but that doesn't mean it's bad.

Just because they used half their budget to get a big name star doesn't make the show any good. It will crash and burn sure and soon enough. Here's hoping.

There are plenty of shows over there that will ensure idol wont be a top show this year it usually rates under 1 million each week.

Firstly, even if the ratings have dropped to a million viewers, it's still going to make it one of the top rating shows.
Liza's performance wasn't astounding but it wasn't about that, it was about her mentoring the contestants and having her pass on her years of experience. What an incredible opportunity to work with a Grammy and Oscar winner with a wealth of experience behind her.

They had five at the table last week. That was far too many. As for Lisa Minelli her performance on the show was far from impressive. Maybe she is past her prime

The guest judges on australian have been pretty good this year but it seems very exceisve to have guest judges on almost every week espically for the top singers. It seems to be a ratings grab attempt which has not paid off, the show has stuggled to get over a million viewers most weeks n Australia but it has been renewed for 2010.

Are you kidding me?! Did NZ Idol ever get an international guest judge other than Dicko?
How many international stars have featured on Australian Idol this year. The biggest would have to have been Liza Minelli. It has stars and produces stars. NZ Idol did not.
