Skins

9:30pm – Monday, June 25 on FOUR

If you’re still recovering from the shock of last week’s Skins series six premiere, then just wait until this week’s Rich-centric instalment! Skins continues its latest season on Monday, June 25 th at 9:30pm on FOUR. Following the car crash, this week sees Professor Blood (Chris Addison) still banning Rich (Alex Arnold) from the hospital, and what’s more, he’s planning to take Grace (Jessica Sula) to Zurich to help her recuperate. “Rich’s episode basically chronicles the relationship Rich and Grace have together. There’s a lot of things that happen, that swing one way and then it swings another,” Alex Arnold explains.

“It’s quite a spooky episode in a way – not spooky as in horror film, but it’s always on edge,” the actor continues. As his friends try to keep R ich out of trouble, he is committed to Grace, and will stop at nothing to visit her in hospital. “Rich’s reaction is to be there all the time and to do whatever he can to be with Grace. That’s the thing that matters the most to him at that moment in his life.”

“It’s kind of make or break. It’s kind of either the making of something great in his character, or the decline,” Arnold continues. “[The episode] affects who he becomes later on and what he’ll get from life afterwards. So he’s on constant edge, and that’s really how he reacts.”

It’s been too long since we’ve had the Skins gang over, but that’s all about to change with the return of the highly-anticipated multi BAFTA award-winning drama premiering its sixth season Monday, June 18 th at 9:30pm on FOUR.

Returning to our screens with the third generation of characters who were first introduced to viewers last year, Skins’ producer Camilla Campbell says the series’ sixth season will feature “new friendships, secret relationships and sexual awakening” and suggests that the bonds between the characters will be “tested”.

“Having set up this new set of characters in the previous series, we can now go into more depth as to where their stories take us,” executive producer John Griffin explains. “With moral ambiguity, high drama, as well as a strong dose of comedy, Skins six will not disappoint.”

“We’re hugely excited about the fantastic mix of writers we have for Skins this year, some of whom are firsttime screenwriters,” Griffin continues. “They’ve spent the past few months developing exciting and challenging stories for our characters and we’re all very excited to see them realised onto the screen.”

This week’s premiere, involving a series of Little Red Riding Hood crimes, will be followed by spins on Cinderella, Goldilocks, Snow White and the Three Little Pigs. As each story unfolds, “Nick buries himself deeper and deeper in lies because he must keep his true nature a secret,” Giuntoli says. “This job of mythic hero has been thrust upon him. He must go out and kill the bad monsters and protect the good ones, when he’d really rather be home watching movies with his girl.”
