8:00pm – Sunday, November 18 on FOUR

Raising Hope takes a look back at what when the series concludes its first season on Friday, November 23 rd at 8pm on FOUR. In the flashback episode, titled “Don’t Vote For This Episode”, the Chances recall the events of the year Jimmy (Lucas Neff) turned 18, including Maw Maw (Cloris Leachman) kicking them out of the house; Jimmy’s goth phase; and Burt (Garret Dillahunt) and Virginia’s (Martha Plimpton) belated entry into adulthood.

“I think it’s the best episode of a good season,” says Garret Dillahunt. “I think my favourite part of the episode is all the chance meetings or passings that happen [with] people that we don’t know that we’re heavily involved with in five years. I think that’s really cool.”

His least favourite part? Well, the part that left him sitting opposite a real-life alpaca, covered in a spit-like goo, naturally.

“There are some things that are funny to watch but aren’t so funny to shoot. This was one of those,” the actor explains. “It made all these little noises. And we didn’t know if that was a satisfied sound or a dissatisfied sound.”

It’ll be a Dawson’s Creek reunion of sorts when Don’t Trust The B**** In Apartment 23 enters its second season on Tuesday, November 27 th at 8:30pm on 3. But before fans get too excited, this will not be the reunion everyone is hoping for – with only Dawson’s co-star Busy Philipps making an appearance.

“They [series producers] were all big fans of hers in the writer’s room, and they pitched to me what they wanted to do,” series star, and former Dawson’s Creek’s actor, James Van Der Beek explains.

“So the first thing I did was call Busy myself, because we’re friends, and said, ‘Listen, you’re going to get this offer, but I just wanted to let you know – if you don’t want to do it, I totally get it. But we’d love to have you’. And she did it. And she came on and was hilarious.”

Van Der Beek also admits that he still struggles to “compute” his Dawson’s Creek experience, claiming that there is “no place to put it in the realm of normal, sensible life experience”.

“Being on something like Dawson’s Creek is something that maybe five or six people in the world understand,” he says. “And it’s not that it was hard; I mean, coal mining is hard. Being a soldier is hard.”

“It’s just one of those things that just does not compute in a lot of ways. So it’s been really interesting to touch base with a lot of those guys this many years out… It was just a very unique experience. But we’ve all kind of come to a good place on it.”

Pity the same can’t bee said for the Don’t Trust The B**** In Apartment version of the Dawson’s Creek cast… Make sure not to miss Van Der Beek trying to organise a reunion, but it all going horribly wrong when Don’t Trust The B**** In Apartment enters its second season on Tuesday, November 27 th at 8:30pm on 3.
