TRUE STORIES UNCUT – PERFECT PENIS

DOCUMENTARY
Slang terms for a penis are plentiful yet people rarely talk about the actual size. This documentary changes all that and meets men who have gone to extraordinary lengths to get the perfect penis.
For some men, bigger – whether by mechanical, herbal or surgical means – will always be better. This film meets the men desperate for extreme surgery to give them what nature hasn’t, and those for whom the unregulated world of penis enlargement surgery has produced agonising results. In Moscow a pioneering Russian surgeon shows us an enlargement operation that sees the penis grafted on to the human arm, and which he hopes to market as the new “cure” for small men everywhere. And, just when you thought it was safe to unzip your trousers, meet the man with a truly enormous penis for whom bigger can never be big enough.

NEW – HIDDEN PALMS

DRAMA

Johnny Miller was a happy, well-adjusted 15-year-old with good grades and a roomful of sports trophies until the night his father committed suicide. Now, Johnny lives in the surreal, sun-drenched city of Palm Springs with his mother and her new husband.

On the outside, Palm Springs is a shimmering paradise of resorts, swimming pools, golf courses and country clubs. But as Johnny learns the secrets that lie just beneath the surface of this seemingly typical neighbourhood, he and his family are forced to ask the question: how well do you really know the people who live right next door? In tonight’s debut episode, while still struggling with his father’s death, Johnny finds himself in the surreal glare of Palm Springs where his mother, Karen (Gail O’Grady), and her new husband, Bob (D.W. Moffett), have decided to make a new start. The lush desert community is an unsettling new environment for Johnny, who is fresh out of rehab for alcohol and drug abuse and struggling to cope with his father’s death and his mother’s quick remarriage. Soon after his arrival, Johnny meets his new neighbours, including Cliff (Michael Cassidy), a handsome teenager whose charm can’t quite hide a disturbing dark side; Cliff’s mother Tess (Sharon Lawrence), a former Southern beauty queen with a taste for younger men; and Liza (Ellary Porterfield), a high school science geek with a fully equipped garage laboratory. Johnny attends his first AA meeting where Jesse Jo (Leslie Jordon), a colourful AA leader and a local drag queen, piques his curiosity. He also meets Greta Matthews (Amber Heard), a stunning young beauty who fascinates him from the moment he lays eyes on her. Intriguing and secretive, Greta is haunted by the death of her former boyfriend, Eddie, who lived in Johnny’s house and died under mysterious circumstances. As Johnny’s relationship with his mother grows more turbulent, he wonders about the future awaiting him in Palm Springs.

‘TIL DEATH
COMEDY

Eddie is stunned after Joy sets up his old college roommate, Webby, with her friend Denise.

Excitement fills the air in anticipation of the annual visit by Eddie’s college roommate, Bill “Webby” Webster. A lifelong vagabond and playboy, Webby’s exploits from the ski slopes of Aspen to the islands of the Caribbean have kept Eddie mesmerised — and more than a little jealous — for years. The same cannot be said for Joy, however, who long ago tired of the guys’ endless recounting of their college antics and Webby’s sexual conquests. And this year’s dinner starts out like all the others until Webby excuses himself for the evening to attend a cigar club party, leaving Joy to observe that he seems unhappy with his life and might be looking for companionship. Even though Eddie forbids her from getting involved, Joy defiantly sets Webby up on a blind date with her friend from work, Denise, while over at the Woodcocks’, an argument has broken out after Jeff criticizes Steph’s new blouse.

Sonny Koufax (Adam Sandler) is a 32-year-old law school graduate living off a meager lawsuit award and lacking some serious career motivation. The only problem is that Sonny’s girlfriend Vanessa (Kristy Swanson) is about to drop him like a bad habit. In a misguided attempt to impress his soon-to-be ex, he adopts five-year-old Julian (Cole and Dylan Sprouse) under the pretense of being the boy’s natural father. THE BEST OF TOP GEAR

MOTORING

In if-you-can’t-beat-them-join-them TOP GEAR, the lads take a break from blowing up caravans to go on holiday in one instead. And Richard sets a deeply unimpressive new world record with an F1 car.
There are some pretty weird car cultures out there. In America, some people fit hydraulic suspensions to their cars – making them as low to the ground as possible, so the vehicle can then be made to ‘jump’ about. But even more ridiculous is a group of Brits who attach a lump of plastic to their tow-bar on a Friday night, then drag it across the country to a large expanse of grass and sleep in it. Why would someone subject themselves to a painfully slow journey to sleep in a plastic box? This, it seems, is a question with no real answer. James, Richard and Jeremy certainly do not seem to enjoy their trip much. They do not like the humiliation of having to go to the toilet in a bucket filled with blue water. There is, however, some amusement to be gleaned from watching James crash while trying to do three-point turns. Tonight’s star is Brian Cox, a man who has a list of films to his name which is longer than a Greenpeace petition to have Jeremy fed to dolphins. Although he isn’t the fastest ever, there have been a lot worst in the past. We all know F1 cars are fast. But how fast are they indoors? We borrow one to find out. To our surprise, we discover that the maximum speed an F1 car can achieve in the EXCEL centre in London is 81mph, which is rubbish, but still a world record.

PRIME ROCKS: FLEETWOOD MAC

DOCUMENTARY/MUSIC

The definitive story of the making of a phenomenal album that has truly earned its place in the pantheon of rock music history.

One of the most popular albums of all times, Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 album RUMOURS spent 130 weeks on the US Billboard album chart and won the Album of the Year award at the 1978 Grammy Awards. The record almost wasn’t made. John and Christine McVie were in the process of separating, the relationship of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks was turning sour and the turmoil between the five members was high. These emotions were channelled into the songwriting process in Sausalito, California that became RUMOURS. Featuring interviews with Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks, along with the studio engineers and producers, this documentary tells the story of the making of this smash album. Featuring the hits Dreams, Don’t Stop, You Make Loving Fun and Go Your Own Way, along with oft-heard tracks Songbird, The Chain and Gold Dust Woman.

STARGATE ATLANTIS
SCI/FI

The Atlantis team investigates the disappearance of one of their allies, only to find an old enemy engineering a race of powerful monsters.
When the Atlantis team loses contact with their allies the Taranans, Weir orders Sheppard, McKay, Teyla and Ronon to investigate. They find the Taranan settlement eerily deserted, but McKay’s equipment reveals a single life sign far beneath the ground. The team enters a system of dank tunnels to track it down. Soon they discover a slimy cocoon — empty. The team resumes their pursuit of the mysterious life sign, but then Ronon notices a side-chamber full of dead Taranans with bite marks on their necks. The team is dismayed to discover an Iratus bug — the Wraith’s primitive, predatory ancestor — nearby. Someone has unleashed these vicious bugs against the innocent Taranans. The life sign draws closer, and the team braces for an assault. In a flash, a horrible creature — half human, half bug — attacks them. It’s nearly invincible, and although Ronon wounds it, it escapes down the tunnel. Giving chase, the team discovers another chamber filled with more cocoons, all about to hatch. Sheppard sets off a massive C-4 charge that destroys the creatures seconds before they emerge.
