VIBE – Sunday 4 November, 9.30pm

VIBE – Wednesday 24 October, 9.30pm

Follow beloved British actress Felicity Kendal as she discovers the story of India’s long love affair with Shakespeare, from the first days of Empire to Bollywood and beyond. Full of surprises, revelations and historical insights, this special documentary takes viewers on a visually spectacular and enlightening journey to some of India’s most iconic cities in search of the source of its enduring passion for the work of Britain’s greatest writer. Having launched her acting career in India and spent the formative years of her childhood criss-crossing the sub-continent with her parents’ theatre company, Shakespeareana, both India and Shakespeare occupy a fond place in Kendal’s heart, sparking her enthusiasm to find out more about a story in which she has played her own small part. What is it in Shakespeare’s work that speaks so strongly to the people of India? What does it reveal about India? And what does it tell us about Shakespeare himself?

Join the dedicated detectives of the Special Victims Unit for a new, emotional, and hardhitting season. Detectives Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) are back to helm the investigations of the criminal justice system’s most heinous crimes, aided this season by Executive Assistant District Attorney Sonya Paxton (Christine Lahti) and Assistant District Attorney Jo Marlowe (Sharon Stone in a much-discussed role).

VIBE – Monday – Thursday from 22 October, 8.30pm

As Cold Case goes back in time so too does Vibe, taking a journey from the very beginning of this compelling drama and travelling right to the end. Detective Lilly Rush works on “cold cases” for the Philadelphia Police Department, reopening dormant, unsolved homicides that occurred years or even decades ago. As the show moves through vignettes from the history of the twentieth century, Rush makes it her business to ensure that no victim is ever forgotten.

A trio of the screen’s most respected actresses – Academy Award winners Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) and Nicole Kidman (Cold Mountain) with Golden Globe winner Julianne Moore (Crazy Stupid Love) – star as three women from different eras who are linked by their common yearnings and fears. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Michael Cunningham. Also starring Ed Harris (A Beautiful Mind), John C. Reilly (Gangs of New York), Claire Danes (Temple Grandin) and Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense).

The series goes beyond the procedures to get to the heart of the people – often undervalued and overlooked – who care for us, wash us, and feed us, all the while nursing dreams of their own.



VIBE – Saturdays from 20 October, 8.30pm

Tired with the predictability of his own writing, the wildly famous but creatively stymied mystery novelist Castle (Nathan Fillion – Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly) is thrilled to be presented with a mystery he can’t solve with his own pen when a copycat killer starts committing murders inspired by his works. Enter NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic – Quantum of Solace) a bright and determined detective with a fascination for the odd and offbeat, who keeps her investigations tightly reigned in. Though they instantly clash, sparks of another kind also begin to fly, leading to both danger and the merest hint of romance as Castle steps in to help find the killer. With Castle’s writer’s intuition and Beckett’s creative detective work, the dynamic duo are on the case in TV’s most novel crime drama.

Monique Lamont and Win Garano reunite when a killer apparently mimicking the Boston Strangler murders of the 1960s terrorises Massachusetts.

Starring Andie MacDowell.
