Jack chooses sharp former prosecutor Teddy Barnes to represent him, who launches her own investigation with the help of a crusty gumshoe. In the second season of “The Closer,” Brenda (Golden Globe® award winner Kyra Sedgwick) copes with challenges both personal and professional. For the Atlanta transplant heading up the Priority Homicide Division of the Los Angeles Police Department, her position on this elite detective squad, which handles high-profile cases of a sensitive nature, is a tenuous balancing act. She faces antagonistic roadblocks, even from her own peers within the department, and must manage a team that remains wary of her unconventional style. Meanwhile, she strives to keep her head above water in the rush and mayhem of Los Angeles, finding comfort with FBI Special Agent Fritz Howard (Jon Tenney, The Division) – or sometimes in a package of snack cakes.

But Brenda’s primary focus is her job. She has an impeccable talent for knowing a person’s secrets and obtaining confessions, with skills that stem from understanding her own quirks, imperfections and neuroses. No matter the personal costs, she does whatever it takes to find out the truth, even if it means alienating others in the LAPD.

This year, Brenda goes through several personal changes at once, as do many of the people around her. Work is a refuge for her, and solving mysteries on the job is an antidote for her inability to do so at home. Brenda’s relationship with Fritz, her love interest who sometimes assists her on investigations, deepens and then is drastically challenged. In addition, more is revealed about the people in Brenda’s squad, including her boss, Assistant Police Chief Will Pope (J.K. Simmons, Juno), with whom she once had an affair.

Witness the real life struggles of celebrity patients whose sobriety hangs by a thread in the follow up to Vibe’s groundbreaking series Celebrity Rehab.

At the end of the first season of Celebrity Rehab, each cast member was given the opportunity to spend three months living in a sober house as they transitioned from a rehab facility to the real world and many of them quietly took advantage of the opportunity. The cast from season two are also being given that same opportunity… and this time it will be filmed.

The sober living house is an interim step on the path to sobriety where addicts can live in a supervised environment with limiting rules and regulations. It’s a place where celebrity addicts, most of whom have spent the better part of their life in the throws of an addiction, will learn how to start their lives over again – in some cases changing everything from their jobs to their friends and the ones they love.

Moving into the sober house will be model/actress Amber Smith, the first model of the Wonderbra campaign; notorious LAPD beating victim Rodney King, whose undesired celebrity riveted a nation and tore a city apart; former Guns ‘n’ Roses drummer Steven Adler; first-season American Idol finalist Nikki McKibbin from Season 2 of Celebrity Rehab, Crazytown singer Seth “Shifty” Binzer and pornographic star Mary Carey from Season 1, plus comedian Andy Dick (Less Than Perfect) who will join the show a few episodes in. Joining them will be resident “house mother,” Jennifer Gimenez, an actress in her own right who has starred in such films as Blow and Vanilla Sky, who has battled her own drug and alcohol demons.

Throughout the course they meet with Dr. Drew Pinsky in an effort to understand and advance their experience to its fullest potential. This groundbreaking series takes an unflinching look at life after rehab and what it feels like for participants as they strive to find recovery on the clean and sober path to a healthy and successful life.
