Bill Henrickson works hard and plays by the rules. All he wants in return is a happy, secure, normal life for his family. But for a polygamist like Bill, it may be too much to ask for - the ‘American Dream’ comes with strings attached.
Big Love returns for a second series tonight at 9.30pm on TV ONE. The offbeat comedy-drama stars Bill Paxton (Twister) as Bill Henrickson, a Utah polygamist juggling a trio of seemingly willing wives: Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn, The Firm); Nicki (Chloe Sevigny, Boys Don't Cry); and Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin, Mona Lisa Smile), and seven children.
As the new season opens, Bill, who owns a pair of hardware superstores, is facing personal and professional crises brought on by the exposure of first wife Barb as being in a polygamous marriage during a high-profile "Mother of the Year" ceremony at the governor's mansion. Bill's other wives, Nicki and Margene, are having to pick up the slack as Barb languishes in a melancholy funk - leaving Bill to assess the damage the scandal caused his Home Plus stores, and to track down the villain responsible.
