Competition is down to the top 10 male and top 10 female vocalists, as the nail-biting semi-finals continue on American Idol.
As the top 20 Idols battle for their place in the finals, Ellen Degeneres has well and truly staked her place on the show, after making her first appearance during Hollywood Week. As she reveals to Entertainment Weekly, she was originally planning to join the hit show during the current semi-final stages, but changed her mind.
"I was going to wait until the live shows, but I thought it was better for me to know who these people are before then," Degeneres says.
Fellow judge and Idol stalwart Simon Cowell was surprised how much Degeneres knows about the prospective singers.

When Roxy and Pamela meet two older army wives, Elise (guest-star Lois Smith, True Blood) and Virginia (guest-star Barbara Barrier, The Six Wives Of Henry Lefay), in a nursing home, they are taken for a trip down memory lane to Fort Marshall during WWII.
Elise and Virginia share their stories and relive their experiences through flashbacks. Roxy and Pamela discover the parallel challenges that army wives have dealt with throughout the years, while also seeing how society has evolved culturally.
A Mystery Death on Grey's Anatomy

A mystery death haunts Seattle Grace hospital after a hotel fire creates carnage, on Grey's Anatomy this week, with multiple perspectives explored in one of most unusual and action-packed episodes of the series.
After a burn victim unexpectedly dies in the midst of the chaotic ER, the Chief (Richard Webber) and board member Jennings (Mitch Pileggi, The X Files: I Want To Believe) interrogate the residents to find the culprit. As all the Mercy West and Seattle Grace residents defend their actions in an effort to save their jobs, the events leading up to the tragedy are seen from several different perspectives.
Featuring a series of flashbacks aimed at solving the mystery of whose was responsible for the woman's death, it turns out each doctor at the hospital, at some point, worked on the patient.
A Shock Swap on The Apprentice New Zealand

Teams Athena and Number 8 are in for a shock swap, this week on The Apprentice New Zealand.
Nicky Clarke and Chris Whiteside volunteer to be Project Managers for this week's task, developing a viral marketing campaign for a free Microsoft security product. Both teams believe they're a shoe-in to win, but the smiles are wiped off their faces when The Boss announces they'll be leading the opposing team.
How will Chris manage the fierce rivalry of the women of Athena? And what will be the sleeping arrangements with both Richard and Nicky on the same team?

In an attempt to keep Kitty's mind off the cancer treatment, Sarah regales her with tales of her summer affair in Europe. But is she telling the whole truth?
Joining the cast this week as Sarah's love interest is Gilles Marini, who was last seen on the big screen as Samantha's nude neighbour in Sex And The City: The Movie.
"I play Luc Laurent, an artist Sarah meets in France while on a work trip," Marini says about his character to TV Guide USA.

When drug addict Astrid (Andi Crown) comes into ED (Emergency Department), Hunter goes out of his way to help her. But it quickly becomes apparent he may have bitten off more than he can chew.
When a desperate Astrid comes into the hospital looking for clean needles, Hunter is surprised by ex-cop Tracey's (Sarah Thomson) hard line attitude with her.
Donoghue explains: "When Hunter sees the way Tracey deals with Astrid it really bugs him. She takes an incredibly unsympathetic approach with the addict, which Hunter can't relate to at all."
Challenging Tracey on the way she handles Astrid, Hunter remains perplexed by Tracey's unsympathetic outlook on drug addicts. Unable to forget about Astrid's sad case, Hunter decides to help her himself.
