As Tony and Carla's wedding nears on Coronation Street, Rob James-Collier says his character Liam is getting worried about the future. This week, as the hen and stag do's get underway, James-Collier says Liam realises it's Carla he really loves, and Liam is struggling to get his act together.

"As everyday passes, he is feeling the pressure. Maria wants to try for a baby again and it's kind of a hard thing to do when your head's completely all over the place, and you're thinking about another woman. Maria senses it, but doesn't sense the reasons behind it. She just thinks he is being moody. It's not any sort of malice, but unfortunately the guys just genuinely mixed up. He thought he loved Maria, but it turns out that he doesn't. He has chosen the wrong woman and he's made a mistake."

Having visited Carla on the pretext of dropping some papers off, Liam finds Carla in her wedding dress with the dressmaker and Michelle. He says when Liam sees Carla in her wedding dress it takes his breath away: "Well she looks belting in it. He is amazed. He is only going round to tell her that he loves her, but to see her in that dress is a bonus. The sexy wedding dress makes him love her even more."

He says Liam leaves, but returns when Michelle and the dressmaker leave. "Before you know it, one thing leads to another."

Liam tells Carla he'll leave Maria: "Carla's going to think, 'I've heard it all before, we've been here before you spilt up with your Mrs, then the baby died, we got together, we slept together, and then your Mrs wanted you back, you up and left me - so what's to say that you won't do that again'.

"I think it shows how much pressure Liam's feeling, there's a point where he says, 'right I'll go and tell Maria right now', and a point where he will go and tell Tony, he even says he'll go and tell Michelle his sister straight away. Just to show he's on a level, it's a genuine thing where he wants to prove it to her. He wants to do the honourable thing and get it out in the open straight away."

But Carla wants to be sure before they do anything rash. Later, as the men head to play paint ball, the hens head for a posh restaurant. Carla cancels a call from Liam, and tries to ignore his texts, and escapes to the loo for some space. Leanne finds her on the floor crying - unable to hold it in any longer, Carla confesses she and Liam are in love.

However, when Maria tells Michelle she is pregnant, Michelle lets the news slip to the rest of the group. Having told Leanne she was going to leave Tony for Liam, Carla now feels she can't. Meanwhile, Tony is getting angry that Liam's preoccupation is to do with Carla, and when he hears Liam telling someone on the phone that he loves them, he assumes it is Carla.

Elsewhere on Coronation Street this week, Steve can't believe his one-night stand with Becky is still haunting him; Janie turns on Leanne for her self pity; Tara makes a move on Dev; Kevin receives a card threatening Sophie; Molly and Tyrone plan a Christmas Day wedding; and Amber tells Molly she has decided to sleep with Darryl.
