Savage Double Murder
Thursday, April 2nd at 8:30pm on TV3
A savage double murder in the Everglades pits Lieutenant Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and the team against the brute force of Miami's Russian mob in the latest instalment of the hit action series CSI: Miami, screening on Thursday, April 2nd at 8:30pm on 3.
This latest seventh season of the CSI franchise series has already seen more action and revelations than you can poke a stick at, however it’s CSI: Miami newcomer Doctor Tara Price (Megalyn Echikunwoke) who’s got fans talking.
Until recently Megalyn Echikunwoke has most notably been associated with her roles of Nicole Palmer in the first season of 24 and as Isabelle Tyler in The 4400. However the actress is now getting more recognition then both those roles put together for her portrayal of newest CSI: Miami medical examiner Doctor Tara Price.
Serving as replacement to Doctor Alexx Woods, played by Khandi Alexander, the actress recently revealed to CBS how she prepared to join the forensic drama and what's it like working with the cast and crew of CSI: Miami.
Echikunwoke's character was introduced in the current season's second episode "Won't Get Fueled Again" where she worked her first job, which was to examine the body of a burnt male victim on a beach. She then became part of the main opening cast credits in the fifth episode “Bombshell”.
But prior to portraying Tara Price, Echikunwoke had to know how real medical examiners deal with everyday work and tragedies. "You're getting a job done, and you are trying to figure out what happened to this person," the actress explains.
"If you don't do that, then you're doing them a disservice, so that's the least that you can do for this person who's just had this tragic end. I think it takes a really special kind of person," the CSI: Miami actress adds.
Aside from that, Echikunwoke had some help from the cast and crew of the show, including lead star David Caruso (Horatio Caine).
"I love them, I think they're fantastic," she says. "David was really helpful in the beginning, very warm and helpful. He also helped me sort of find the tone of the show because he was instrumental in creating it, so who better to lead you in the right direction than him?"
Who better indeed? Make sure not to miss Megalyn Echikunwoke as newcomer Doctor Tara Price when CSI: Miami continues its action packed season on Thursday, April 2nd at 8:30pm on 3.
