Down the Rabbit Hole

This week CSI: New York continues with a nail-biting follow-up to the Virtual Second Life episode entitled "Down the Rabbit Hole", when CSI: New York “DOA for a Day”, screens on Tuesday, July 29th at 8:30pm on 3.
“Down the Rabbit Hole” saw Detective Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) and the team investigate the murder of a woman named Cheryl, who was shot to death and found with a tick on her body, and an action figure nearby.
When the team looked into Cheryl’s life in the hopes of finding clues about her death they discovered she had been participating in Second Life as her online alter ego, Venus - forcing Mac to create his own avatar and go online in pursuit of her killer.
Now “DOA for a Day” sees an anonymous tipster lead Mac and his team to an abandoned warehouse, where the CSIs corner one of the city's most notorious criminals and try to bring an end to the Virtual World killer introduced in “Down the Rabbit Hole.”
Upon the episodes’ release CSI creator, Anthony Zuiker told American TV Guide that for the concluding episode of the cross-platform CSI: New York two-parter he was looking to sign a "Grammy-caliber" musician who would not only act on the show but also host a live concert in Second Life after the episode airs.
However the mega-producer did not win what he describes as "a verbal agreement" with the Grammy-winning singer and the unnamed female artist had to bow out because she was leaving on tour.
“You'll still see the concluding Second Life episode - minus the music but with a continuing cross-platform hook," Zuiker says of the episode.
"It will be just as grand, and deepen the CSI: NY experience," he adds.
But fans shouldn’t take his word for it and judge the episode, not to mention the animated special effects, for themselves when the highly anticipated conclusion to the Virtual World killer comes to head in CSI: New York, screening Tuesday, July 29th at 8:30pm on 3.
