Celebrate the New Year with NZ's fourth most popular folk parody duo Bret McKenzie (Lord Of The Rings) and Jemaine Clement (Eagle V Shark). We are playing the entire second series of this international cult favourite back-to-back this New Years Eve, and then relieving the hangover with laughter on New Years Day.

In a statement released on their official site, Bret & Jermaine have announced that there will not be a third season of Flight of the Conchords.

We’ve noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won’t be returning for a 3rd season.

We’re very proud of the two seasons we made and we like the way the show ended. We’d like to thank everyone who helped make the show and also everyone who watched it.

The duo have assured fans that Flight of the Conchords are still together.

While the characters Bret and Jemaine will no longer be around, the real Bret and Jemaine will continue to exist.

In what was supposed to only ever be a single season series, Flight of the Conchords is now looking like it will make it to three.

Of course, the executives at HBO are eager for a third season of the hit comedy show but will Bret and Jermaine give them the nod?

Rumors are always rife and despite the duo being content to leave it at two seasons, there is speculation that we'll be boarding for a third flight shortly.

Voted as the all time favourite episode by the New Zealand public, the Conchords take flight for the final time tonight in Love Is A Weapon Of Choice – and what better way to farewell the boys than to see them wearing bad sportswear and falling in love with the same girl…ahhhhhh.

Last week on Media 7 we did a show on NZ comedy.

In it we touched on FOTC- -because it is impossible to talk about
comedy in NZ without doing so – their mega success has changed the game.

In this final episode of the second series, the boys discover that they owe over $7,000 dollars in unpaid rent, Bret and Jemaine are evicted and forced into the all-too-eager arms of Mel.

Meanwhile, Murray starts rehearsals for an off-Broadway musical detailing the journeys and misadventures of Bret and Jemaine, who play the leads. After their musical's opening night, the embassy members Murray invited become suspicious of the musical's frequent theme of illegal immigration.

Jemaine and Dave help Bret in his quest to woo the lady at Petland – his romantic exploits include wearing a kilt, buying 64 goldfish, going through her  rubbish and arranging a fake mugging. 

And Murray seeks forgiveness from Greg after an incident involving a bus.

The 18th May signals a dark day for New Zealand - this is the day when the final episode from season two of Flight of the Conchords will screen. Fear not though, as PRIME is giving viewers a chance to see their favourite FOTC episode again.
