Sony shafting Glee cast over soundtrack royalties?

August 31st, 2010

Several of the Glee cast members are believed to be furious with Sony over unpaid royalties which they believe they are entitled to.

Sony allegedly hasn’t paid a dime to several of the cast members of the hit musical series for their work on the show’s soundtrack Glee: The Music – Journey to Regionals.

Although the album hit number 1 on the Billboard album charts, several members are claiming Sony has stiffed them out of profits.

Mark Salling, who plays Puck on the show, says he has received nothing from the music giant while Cory Monteith (Finn) says he only “got 400 bucks from it going number 1, but you know what, that’s OK, because if I’m patient, and this thing does really well, maybe I’ll see another 400 bucks.”

The feud is also spilling over to the cast’s solo careers with several Glee members signing record deals with other labels out of spite.

Confirmed: Glee to feature Paul McCartney's music

August 19th, 2010

After weeks of rumours, Glee creator Ryan Murphy has finally confirmed that Paul McCartney’s music will feature in the show’s second season.

Last month Murphy announced that McCartney had sent him samples of his music for consideration for the hit series.

Murphy has since confirmed to Rolling Stone that the ex-Beatles member will have his tracks in the show.

"I was gobsmacked... so of course we are going to do something with him," he said.

Of course, as with any Glee news, Murphy will keep fans waiting by holding back whether only McCartney’s music will feature or whether the man himself will make a guest appearance.
