The next season of How I Met You Mother will feature a guest appearance from Pussycat Doll singer Nicole Scherzinger. The singer will appear on an episode which traces the back-story of Robin (Cobie Smulders).
Dalton to guest on Chuck
Former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton will make an appearance on the next season of Chuck, with news the actor has signed on for a guest role. Dalton will play a “mystery man” with a connection to one of the series’ main characters.

Emmy presenters announced
The first crop of presenters have been announced for the upcoming Emmy Awards. Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara, Glee’s Matthew Morrison, Mad Men’s January Jones, The Office’s John Krasinski and Ricky Gervais will all present awards at the Jimmy Fallon-hosted ceremony which takes place on August 29.
Desperate Housewives actor joins Gossip Girl
Desperate Housewives and Mad Men actor Sam Page has joined the cast of Gossip Girl for the upcoming season. Page, who played Bree’s scheming step-son on DH recently, will reportedly join the series as a love interest for one of the major characters.

Smith to leave Doctor Who?
Doctor Who producers may be on the lookout for a new Doctor with word Matt Smith may be planning to quit the series following the next season. It is understood Smith has plans to attempt to make it in Hollywood after his stint as the Doctor in much the same way previous Doctor David Tennant has done.
Casting for Grey's
Grey’s Anatomy has acquired the services of ex-Men In Trees actor James Tupper, who has signed on to appear in the show next season. Tupper will feature a trauma counsellor called Andrew Perkins in the upcoming season.

In the first heart-pounding episode of a two-part Grey's Anatomy finale, the Seattle Grace doctors are faced with a terrifying day at work.
The penultimate episode starts with a bang, as the hospital is hit with a crisis more perilous than any other in its history. With a deadly threat on the loose, the facility is forced into lock-down as other emergency services rush to their aid. Isolated from their colleagues, and unable to leave their own departments, the surgeons must battle to save the lives of their patients - and each other.
As the crisis unfolds, and the death toll rises, the threat is soon revealed to have a very personal resonance for one of the doctors in the building. With danger mounting, a truly shocking conclusion changes Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) life forever.

The wise-talking junior surgeons face the ultimate test of their sensitivity when a morbidly obese man is admitted to the hospital, in tonight's Grey's Anatomy.
As Bailey (Chandra Wilson) hastily coaches the team with mandatory empathy training, it soon becomes clear they're being prepared for a very specific reason - a 300kg patient is about to arrive at Seattle Grace suffering from a rare flesh-eating illness. As the super-sized patient's condition deteriorates, it's apparent he must go through a risky surgery if he has any hope of surviving, but he refuses to undergo the procedure. Can they convince him to take the chance?
Elsewhere, Cristina (Sandra Oh) looks after the daughter of a patient, which brings a long-hidden childhood trauma to the surface, and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) comes face-to-face with a former patient's husband in a wrongful death deposition.

Steven Spielberg is eyeing up Queensland as the filming location of his new big budget series Terra Nova. The Hollywood heavyweight sang the praises of Australia after shooting war drama The Pacific in Melbourne and is looking at the far North this time to provide the backdrop for his new dinosaur series which is said to cost around $150 million.
Pro-whaling comedian says more on the way
The comedian who duped Breakfast host Paul Henry earlier in the week pretending to be a pro-whaling supporter has sent out a gentle warning of more pranks on the horizon. Guy Williams is a part of C4 show The Jono Project whose goal it was to make it onto a live interview on the rival broadcaster’s news and current affairs show as a joke.

MTV sorry for swearing
MTV execs have apologised for the amount of swearing during the MTV Movie Awards that recently screened on the network. The broadcast which was described as “live with a delay” failed to be clean of objectionable language with a few words sneaking through despite the bleep button taking a pounding throughout the two-hour show.
NZ production good to go
Filming on the New Zealand-based production Spartacus: Blood and Sand has been given the green light once again after lead actor Andy Whitfield was given the all-clear after being diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year. The Australian actor is set to appear before the camera again in October.

The past comes back to haunt Owen (Kevin McKidd), as he succumbs to his dark side, tonight on Grey's Anatomy.
When Teddy's (Kim Raver) cancer patient, Kim (Sara Gilbert, The Big Bang Theory and Roseanne), decides to end her treatment and her life, Teddy turns to Owen for help. However, he reacts angrily and the situation triggers a painful flashback for Owen of his life at war and his past relationship with Teddy in Iraq.
McKidd says he did a lot of research for the role, about what it would be like for a medical soldier in Iraq.
"I did a lot of reading, trying to get into the head space of what those trauma rooms are about on a day-to-day basis, just to kind of differentiate in my head the difference and experience that Owen brings with him."
