Anyone know why we're a few episodes short for the season

Was keen to see the next instalment of Life tonight only to find it's been replaced by the new season of Bones. Thinking it seemed to end rather abruptly checked around and found an episode guide that mentioned at least 2 more episodes. These have both aired in the States already. Anyone know what is going on and when we are likely to see the rest of this great series?

The second answer is probably right. Life performed really bad in the NZ ratings. It started off fair, but the viewing numbers declined heavily just after a few episodes. The ratings were practically around 3% to 4% for every episode - which is really abysmal for an 8:30pm slot. 24 also had this similar situation a few years ago, where their figures were simply horrendous and therefore were forced to move to a late night slot.

Life was pulled off because it was not performing to the level that TV3 was expecting apparently.

For me, the most likely answer to this question is that those two last episodes were going to be aired with Life returned with new episodes in the US. However, NBC has decided that along with shows like Heroes that it will hold off the new series until September.A decision like this may have been made before the strike finished since TV3 would have to arrange their schedule to make the most of their primetime show material in the case that the strike had continued. Sucks though since those episodes made the series a lot better.

Filming of Life was affected by the US writers strike. No idea why tv3 pulled it off air when they did.
