Bear Grylls show how to survive the gruelling conditions of Patagonia, South America when he parachutes onto a windblown Steppe where there is little to eat and almost no shelter.  He spends the night sleeping under a rock in freezing conditions, skins a hare and has to climb a 30m high cliff.  He meets a gaucho, tracks pumas to find a recent kill and pushes himself to the limit drinking from a frozen pond filled with animal dung.  He then tackles the Perito Moreno glacier – a bizarre icy wilderness riddled with deadly ice caves and crevasses.
