Outrageous Fortune Losing Its Magic
First of all I need to say I love OF, it is by far the best NZ show ever made. Season One and Two were brilliant must-watch TV.
But here are my thoughts on season three so far:
1.This season is very patchy.
In the first two seasons the story's flowed through each episode. Season three (so far) has had one story line per show, with a very small amount of story line b. The story's don't flow like they use to and now we have massive recaps at the start of the show.
2. Aurora
I knew that once they introduced Aurora as the girl for Van that they would need to kill her off. The bond and love between them was too strong. It was great to watch but there was no other way to break them up. Where would Van go as a character, getting married - blah blah that can get boring. But they took it too far with some of the name calling. Van would be devastated with Aurora dying; they didn't need to add to guilt. The guilt just makes it drag on longer than it needed to.
3. Bloody Hayden Peters.
Why did they replace him with that guy from McClouds daughters? Hayden was a great character. He had a mean/greedy streak that was fun to watch. His relationship with Loretta was a great match. I had a feeling that they didn't know what to do with that character so replaced him with that McClouds guy. (who is that character btw?)
4. Van being an dickhead
Ok fine he is upset. But sleeping with Munters mum. They took it too far again. Just getting his mum drinking again would have been bad enough and enough to break the friendship. I don't understand why Van slept with her, it was too much and not needed.
5. Wolf vs Judd
I'm still waiting for this storyline to start.
Season one and two were 10/10
Season three so far is 8.5/10

i love outrageous fortune and season 3 is just as good as 1 and 2.. its awesome and i cant wait for (hopefully) many more seasons to come!

lucky us ... we didn't get adopted into the westside family until we got a telly this year
so, we loved this season of OF, and have really enjoyed delving into the family closet after picking up the first two season DVDs from realgroovy
nope, i don't think next season will get relegated to latenight
OF is the shiz. keep it coming kids! we're dying to see where the end of S3 leads to ...
for now, we're fast catching up - midway thru S2 now - aurora has just joined us
(omg, aurora, so sad to know your time will be a short one ... maybe aurora will have a secret twin too? i can but hope)

Outrageous Fortune has continued its high standard, in my opinion. Considering the concept has been sold to the UK for them to do a remake of, and that it screens in Aus and the UK is huge accolades for a Kiwi show.

I think OF should be banned because of the sex, sin and softporn. What should be replaced in its time slot? TV Evangelists with their "send me your money 0900give me" attitudes Or even Brian Tamaki back with his Destiny TV Church show

Nah OF is trailer trash....even the title sux big time!!!! What is it with NZ producers and the dumbass titles they give their shows????

I have a short memory but weren't the first two seasons funnier? This season seems more dark. Even Munter seems to have grown up and isn't the careful guy with the hilarious lines he once was.
More Pascalle please! And where's Bruce?

Yep I see what you mean about this and I found the 2 after Aurora's death quite boring - still funny but just not to the same standard. Having said that last weeks ep (the breakup) was back to classic OF that I know and love
HAYDEN BLOODY PETERS
Hayden was a great character. He had a mean/greedy streak that was fun to watch. His relationship with Loretta was a great match.
Like you I REALLY like this character and there is a big part of me that is hoping against hope that this is NOT as finished as it appears.
If they replaced him with Gary I for one am p***** as there is plenty they could have done with him
Kudos to Antonia Prebble and Shane Cortese - they were so much fun to watch

I agree with you in some parts. I do not like the Van storyline at all. It's boring.

If Munter's not in OF anymore(or scarely) I might not keep watching. I feel like they'd better lift their game or s3 is going to be their downfall.

On one hand: you're right.
On the other hand: the Aurora death episode was one of the best yet.
I feel like the show has become the Van+Munter show, with the other characters being on the sidelines, when there's so much to those characters as well.
I felt earlier seasons were funnier.
However, Outrageous is still the best Kiwi show on air.

i agree with you, outrageous fortune is well.... pretty crap this year i usually tape to watch it over & over again but thats just not happening this year cause the show inst that interesting, if it keeps going like this it will probably be ended & shifted to a late night slot.
