The thing is, NONE of these contestants can sing, all they do is open their mouths and 'attempt' to do something they aspire to be..which obviously isn't singing.

If you even bother to watch this show, then you need your hearing checked. Because when I tuned in I almost LOST my hearing.

As you point out, it makes sense for Joe to be in the final. And Nik has been in the bottom two before. But Matt being in the final three, and never had been in the bottom two is a mystery and the only conclusion i could come up with is that he votes for himself.

Well, I've also had the thought that Matt must be voting for himself - thinking it'd be worth spending some of the last $50,000 to win another lot! And another car to sell! Honestly can't understand why he'd never be in the bottom 2 otherwise!
He's just trying to convince everyone what a nice and caring family man he is. That all he wants to do is look after his family - he says! So guess a lot are still being taken in by that too! And he doesn't at any time give the impression that he's a serious singer wanting to make a career of it!

Joe would be getting extra votes because she's canvassing for votes on the radio and would pick up a lot that way. But still I do like Joe and if I thought it would make any difference, would vote for her - regardless of her being on the radio!

But think it would be a waste of time and money voting, because the judges know what they want however the voting goes!

Chevy, I'm so touched by your condescending drivel, really. I like how you call me a sore loser, when other people are resorting to insulting people who dare think that their idol isn't so great.

To me (please remember this is a blog site, so it's purely people's opinions), it seems more obvious why people vote for Joe. She's on the radio, she's on the tv, she's a constant advertisment for herself, people tend to like her personality so they vote for her.

What are we congratulating Matt for - the fact that he has absolutely NO desire at all to have a music career, and he's just in it for the money and the car again?! I'd much rather someone like Ben had won, who had least has made an effort to try and make a career for himself, and even Nik who's actually SAID on this show that that's what he would use the money for ... never mind just using it to spend it on your family

ME!!! I find it very annoying. And remember all his talk about making it big after Idol? He was basically having a go at the previous winners for not trying hard enough.

Probably, because others like myself, don't buy into all the hype and vote accordingly! He is definitely the best vocalist there, but has come under fire for incidents that don't have much substance to them......I base my judgement on the task at hand and ignore the alleged stuff.....you know....innocent until proven guilty! I think he's seen as a threat, hence all the overdramatisation of these situations!

The txt spelling system is pretty clever for voting competitions. It definitely collects misspellings. If you txted in "N" at this stage, the vote would go to Nik.

You just accused the guy of voting for himself, so what category does that accusation come under I wonder? I think the guy is a genuinely awesome singer and is getting a lot of unfair criticism. I think the problem is that the public can't spell Nik's name. In the fan segment they showed, someone was holding a sign with the name "Nick" on it. If this person is a fan, and this person has voted for him, they would've voted for 'Nick' not 'Nik', and I'm not sure that that would go through.

Besides, how many people actually vote, it would be feasible to put a couple hundred of dollars a week of votes your way, and make enough of a difference to actually keep you in the game. And I'd say it seems more feasible that the other option - that people actually like Matt enough to spend their own money on him.
