Project Runway is back! The reality series' seventh season returns to our screens on Thursday, September 9th at 9:30pm on 3.

After spending a season on the West Coast, for its latest season Project Runway is going back on its home turf of New York, and the show's mentor to the designers, Tim Gunn says that it's good to be back.

"To bring the show back here was a thrill and it was a relief," he tells American TV Guide. "There's an energy and a vitality to the city that isn't replicated elsewhere, and I think the designers just pick up on that."

But Gunn tries to keep a good attitude about making the move to Los Angeles. "I have to say, as initially woeful as I was about going out to Los Angeles, I needed to think positively about it," he says. "So it was 'Let's make it work,' as I say."

Project Runway spin-offs

Two new Project Runways spin-offs are in the works over in the US according to Variety. The first, already in pre-production, will feature former contestants Santino Rice and Austin Scarlett travelling around the country giving wardrobe advice and makeovers to in-need women. The second will focus on host Heidi Klum and husband Seal dishing out marriage counselling.

Lee DeWyze wins American Idol

Lee DeWyze has taken out the ninth season of American Idol, edging fellow finalist Crystal Bowersox in last night’s season finale. The three-hour special also saw a farewell tribute to departing judge Simon Cowell which featured many familiar faces from previous seasons returning to the stage alongside celebrity performers.

The time Project Runway's three finalists have waited for is here - Fashion Week at Bryant Park. Project Runway finals its sixth season on Thursday, May 13th at 9:30pm on 3.

Supermodel Heidi Klum hosts this exciting reality series that gives talented and hungry designers the opportunity to show their work to New York's fashion community and be featured in the pages of Elle magazine.

This week's finale will sees Carol Hannah Whitfield, Irina Shabayeva, and Althea Harper sending their collections down the catwalk in the hopes of wowing the judges. But only one designer will go home with $100,000 to start her own line.

When asked about the series' sixth season, mentor to the designers Tim Gunn says that the season's location of Los Angeles did differ from the previous location of New York as a backdrop for the show.

This week will see the remaining designers having to work their magic on powerhouse pop diva Christina Aguilera and designer Bob Mackie when the hit reality series Project Runway continues its latest season on Thursday, April 1st at 9:30pm on 3.

"The contestants were beside themselves when they heard who they were designing for," Project Runway executive producer Jane Cha tells American TV Guide.

"They couldn't believe it was Christina. And they really had to think about it, because costuming is not their forte."

But it is the forte of the legendary Mackie, who is best known for his work with Cher and Tina Turner.

"We tap into his archives, so it was very interesting," says Cha. "For the designers, it will be lots of glitz and glam for the stage, and that's very different from American sportswear."

Eva Longoria Parker (Desperate Housewives) is ditching Wisteria Lane for the Runway, when, along with fashion luminary Tommy Hilfiger, she appears in Project Runway, screening on Thursday, March 4th at 9:30pm on 3.

She plays a former model on Desperate Housewives, and she's a trend-setting fashionista in real life - and now, Longoria Parker is putting her gifts and talents to more use as a guest judge on Project Runway.

Longoria will be the guest judge in this week's upcoming episode's 'The Paper Dresses' challenge, where the designers will be asked to make garments out of newspaper.

According to Project Runway's mentor to the designers, Tim Gunn, this week's instalment is a "must see" episode with a scandal involving "the biggest lie in Runway history".

Thirteen is the lucky number when the designers create party dresses for the 13 remaining models in this week's Project Runway, screening on Thursday, February 25th at 9:30pm on 3.

As the designers become clients for the models, Project Runway's mentor to the designers, Tim Gunn recently spoke to Fox News, sharing some tips for ladies who wish to dress the Tim Gunn way while on a budget.

"There are three key elements to getting your fashion right and they are silhouette, proportion, and fit," Gunn said.

"It has nothing to do with a particular label or its textile or its price, it's those three elements. And it's true for women and it's true for men as well."

For those who aren't too fond of scouring racks of clothes for a good bargain, he even suggests going on the web.

The catwalks, catfights and catcalls return this week when the wardrobe-themed reality hit launches its sixth season. Project Runway premieres its latest season on Thursday, February 4th at 9:30pm on 3.

Los Angeles is the new setting for Project Runway Season Six when 16 fresh clothiers compete in the usual fierce fashion-themed heats, designing their ware at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Series staples Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn return, as do judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.

"It's a great season," Tim Gunn tells Chron Television about the series' sixth instalment. "There's a lot of glamour and pizazz. A lot of great-looking women and men, I have to say. It has a very Euro feeling."
