Britain’s Biggest Spenders
Wednesday 10 September, 9.30pm
Real Life: Britain’s Biggest Spenders shows the jaw-dropping spending habits and lifestyles of four big spenders (tonight at 9.30pm on TV ONE). Find out what makes these larger-than-life characters spend, what makes them tick, and what happens to those who can’t afford to pay for their expensive lifestyle.
Spender Scott 'No. 1' Alexander is a muscle-bound, perma-tanned 31-year-old, who lives in Manchester's most expensive penthouse and brings a whole new meaning to the word 'bling'.
"When I left university I was pretty much broke, but within one year I was a multi-millionaire," says Alexander, who made his money sourcing and providing the most expensive goods and services available for his super-rich clients.
"I don't know anyone who spends more money than me. I spend a lot of money," he explains, "I'm in a position where money isn't a barrier to anything - if I want to buy a Sunseeker Yacht, I'll buy it, if I want a Lamborghini, I can buy it. There isn't anything that I see that I can't obtain. If there is something that I can't obtain, then my foot goes on the accelerator and I will get it."
This documentary follows Scott Alexander as he takes a trip to Bulgaria, where he hopes to buy a town and name it after himself - and spends millions.
Britain's Biggest Spenders also follows: Aimi Robinson, a shopaholic lap dancer who lives like an A-list celebrity. She spends thousands on clothes, make-up and cosmetic surgery, which will enable her to look the part in the high spending circles she mixes in. However, her golden days of lap dancing are over and her attempts to get noticed by the tabloids as a 'glamour girl' are failing. She doesn't earn enough to pay the bills and has amassed a huge £80,000 debt.
Denize Hewett is the beneficiary of a multi-million pound divorce settlement. She owns four different properties and spends her time hanging out with her wealthy divorcée friends, splashing her cash on toy boys, designer clothes and artwork.
Lisa Voice is one of the world's richest women. She made her money from music publishing and now spends much of her time buying her clothes straight off the catwalk, and when she fancies a shopping trip to Paris, hires a private jet to take her there. When Lisa goes shopping for a car she can't make up her mind between a Bentley with a hard top or a soft top, and so buys them both.
Watch Real Life: Britain's Biggest Spenders and witness the lavish spending habits of some of the world's largest spenders.
