Confused about which channels will be showing the Rugby World Cup matches?
Confused about which channels will be showing which games for the Rugby World Cup held in New Zealand in 2011? Don't worry, you're not alone: TVNZ even thought there would be 16 All Blacks matches!
If the IRB accept the latest proposal, this is what the match schedule will look like*...

If the free-to-air joint bid by TVNZ, TV3 and MTS is accepted by the IRB, PRIME wouldn't get free-to-air rights.

Where does Prime come into this - or doesn't it?

I really can't see any reason to show the last 8 games on all 3 channels... I agree that the advertisers aren't going to be entirely happy with that arrangement. And will they all have different commentators? I thought it was a great idea that so many games would be available FTA, but that's pretty ridiculous.

Well done Mr Key, that's a great solution. *splutter splutter splutter*Hamish Coleman-Ross
I think New Zealand TV has officially gone Bananas.

TV2 will be the winner on the day.

... will also suck if you DON'T like rugby!! Not much else will be on

What an incredible waste having all the quarter finals on being on 4 different channels. Will suck if you're an advertiser.
The question though, is when the All Blacks fail to make the grand final, will all the networks still choose to screen the game or resort to providing viewers with alternative viewing options?
Looks like you'll have to get Sky if you don't want to watch Rugby. Touche.

So there will be two live AB games only on Maori TV and Sky.
