When drug addict Astrid (Andi Crown) comes into ED (Emergency Department), Hunter goes out of his way to help her. But it quickly becomes apparent he may have bitten off more than he can chew.
When a desperate Astrid comes into the hospital looking for clean needles, Hunter is surprised by ex-cop Tracey's (Sarah Thomson) hard line attitude with her.
Donoghue explains: "When Hunter sees the way Tracey deals with Astrid it really bugs him. She takes an incredibly unsympathetic approach with the addict, which Hunter can't relate to at all."
Challenging Tracey on the way she handles Astrid, Hunter remains perplexed by Tracey's unsympathetic outlook on drug addicts. Unable to forget about Astrid's sad case, Hunter decides to help her himself.

Feelings are questioned on Shortland Street this week, between Rachel McKenna (Angela Bloomfield) and Callum McKay (Peter Mochrie). Dr McKay has been an enormous support for Rachel this year, taking her under his wing when she needed it. But is there more to this relationship than meets the eye?
When Rachel confessed to Morgan's (Bonnie Soper) hit and run, most of Ferndale turned against her. If it weren't for Callum looking out for her, who knows what could have happened to her.
Angela Bloomfield says Rachel was in an incredibly vulnerable place. "She very easily could have succumbed to her alcoholism. Callum was really there for her though. She owes a lot to his friendship and support."

Weekdays, 7pm on TV2
Shortland Street hosts the wedding of the year this week, when Sophie McKay (Kimberley Crossman) prepares to tie the knot with Kieran Mitchell (Adam Rickitt).
Sophie and Kieran's relationship has experienced its ups and downs, enduring widespread disapproval by many people in Ferndale, due mainly to the age gap and Kieran's dodgy reputation. As the wedding quickly approaches, it appears some people still hold the same view.
Adam Rickitt explains: "Sophie's brother Hunter (Lee Donoghue) is extremely vocal in his distaste for Kieran. Family means a lot to Sophie, so Hunter's lack of support is really upsetting for her, and seeing the love of his life in pain cuts Kieran very deeply."
But despite the hard times they've had, Sophie and Kieran feel certain they are truly meant for one another.
