Shortland Street | TV Highlights
25-29 August
Weeknights at 7pm
Long term fans of Shortland Street will have their loyalty rewarded this week, as a long running storyline ramps up to a stunning conclusion.
Viewers were left guessing in 2006 when then-CEO Huia Samuels (Nicola Kawana) was killed in a fiery car bomb. At the time, police investigators put the explosion down to a case of Huia being in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, the embers of that story line are re-ignited this week on Shortland Street, when Dr Craig Valentine (Renato Bartolomei) receives new information about his ex-lover's death from a mysterious source.
What transpires is a classic 'whodunit', with all the elements of murder, mystery and intrigue. As the week goes on, Craig is horrified to discover that Huia's death, Toni Warner's (Laura Hill) death and several of his patients' illnesses are inextricably linked. At first he can't believe what is unfolding before him, but as he digs deeper, the shocking reality becomes clear.
Producer Jason Daniel says "The next few weeks are full of intriguing twists and momentous events, with old scores settled and new enemies made. There are several episodes that will have viewers on the edge of their seats with suspense. And others that will have everyone reaching for the tissues. Expect the unexpected."
Plus Daniel hints intriguingly at a new look for Shortland Street in coming weeks. Don't miss a minute of New Zealand's top-rating drama, 7pm eeeknights on TV2.
