Hello, yes, I think her eptopic pregnancy was caused by dengue fever and that Oliver is purposely infecting people to test his potion.   He infected the lady in the ward because he thought she had been overseas and that that woul cover his tracks.   I think he also gave it to Shanti.  However he would not have known Shanti was pregnant at the time.    Explain his guilty behavior/shiftiness.  Gret storylin by the writers.   Needs backfillng,which soap writersdont usualybothr with.

Shanti and Scotty on the front cover of TV Guide and the promos mentioning the death of one of the characters.

I know some *may* have thought it would have been Shanti, especially after she fell ill last week, but this is Shorty and unexpected character deaths are starting to become all to common on the show with the last unexpected death being Toni Warner and that was hot on the heels of Michael Galvin popping up on Good Morning a few days earlier.

So if we see a promo predicting death and the appearance on GM or TV Guide of one or two Shorty actors then be prepared for a possible death on the show.

I was shocked last night when Chris told Scotty and TK that Shanti had died. I can't believe the writers had killed her off. It was so unexpecting to me! I liked Shanti. RIP Shanti! You will be dearly missed!

I rekn Shanti had yellow fever or something, the symptoms she had kinda fit especially with the kidney failure and oliver will be behind it whatever she had... post mortem will be interesting

I'm thinking there could actually be some major drama over the funeral. For instance, Shanti's family might want to take her back to India. I can't imagine that Scotty will be too thrilled with that idea. Even if they let her stay in New Zealand, they may still insist on giving her a Hindu funeral. Often in traditional Hindu funerals, they end up tossing the body onto a large burning pyre. I can't see Scotty being very pleased about that either! Perhaps he or his family will want to give her a Maori tangi. So there could be some serious bickering between the two families before she's finally able to be farewelled!

Well, I think they did announced that someone was dying.. And I think few of us could see it coming.. As I've mentioned in other forum that it could be possible that Oliver's experimenting on human beings and could be the next serial killers? I agree, Rachel.. I love montages, I think all characters should have montages when they leave the show!!

What the? I missed Shorty tonight but I just saw the ads and saw that Shanti is dead, I wonder what she did to offend the big wigs to get killed off so suddenly, you'd think they would want to advertise something like this would happen to boost up their ratings but no. Im surfing the net to try and find info on why it happend the way it did and all Im getting is the return of ho-bag Racheal McKenna. whatever!

Do you think they'll have a funeral for her and a proper send-off?  I wish we'd see montages of characters - their first scene, when Shanti and Scotty met, the fireworks scene, the haunted house etc...

I knew it was coming I just didn't think so soon - tomorrow should be good.....I can't believe she's left the show though! She hasn't been on there very long...!!

I knew it was an ectopic pregnancy as soon as she had that intense pain.  I know someone who almost died from one.

I liked how Scotty was just silent when he heard the news in utter shock.
