SUPRÉ 2007 Stage Challenge Saturday August 4, 10.00am

Talented teenagers make a statement in the SUPRÉ 2007 Stage Challenge.

A History of Dating, Peter Pan, Cluedo, Haunted House, Cinderfella, Rwanda, The Edgecumbe Earthquake, Olympics, Polluting the Planet - these are just a few of the themes performed by intermediate and high school students in the SUPRÉ 2007 Stage Challenge.
Now in its 15th year, Stage Challenge has involved more than 200,000 young New Zealanders in this educational and inspirational performing arts event. The SUPRÉ 2007 Stage Challenge has toured across New Zealand - from Invercargill to Whangarei. Months of hard work and rehearsals culminated in 19 professional events in some of New Zealand's premiere performance venues. Over 23,000 audience members came to see 14,500 talented young Kiwis strut their stuff!

Now, after rocking its way around the country, the TV2 special (hosted by Studio 2's Matt Gibb) is a chance to relive the excitement of all the regional finals. Every school that performed as part of the SUPRÉ 2007 Stage Challenge live events will be featured, so every student will see the spotlight. Gibb had great fun presenting the television special. "It was great to see all those kids getting out there and giving it a go. I just loved being a part of this event!"

Jo Eade, Associate Producer of the television special, says that it is an amazing event to be involved in. "The SUPRÉ 2007 Stage Challenge is about having fun while making healthy lifestyle choices and enjoying a 100 per cent drug, alcohol and tobacco-free experience. It's a truly positive and creative event for young people," she says, "This year the standard is higher than ever before".

Be sure to catch all the action at 10.00am each Saturday from August 4 on TV2.
